WINTER SOLSTICE CAMPOUT DECEMBER 21th-23th

Summer Solstice Campout June 19th-20th, 2022

The Summer Solstice campout is part of our quarterly campout series that will coincide with the seasons, particularly the solstices and equinoxes. Each campout will be in a different location and somewhere along or close to the Stagecoach 400 route.

This year we are once again staying at Burnt Rancheria in Mount Laguna. Sites: 041, 042 and 030 on Sunday night June 19th.
Campground amenities include:
Bathrooms
Coin showers
Potable Water
Store just outside of the campground with firewood and snacks (closes at 5pm I believe)

There are a few options to get to camp...

Driving:
This is a great option if you just want to hangout for camping, join in on the day rides or simply relax in the beauty of the mountains. We plan to get there around 2pm, set up camp and then ride out to the meadow to try and meet the group riding in. If you're planning to drive up we only have 5 extra cars spots so first come, first serve. Then it's $10 per car and you may have to park in the overflow lot at the campground.

Riding from Pine Valley:
This is a great option for those who want to challenge themselves but still have energy to enjoy the experience :) Meet time will be around 1:30/2pm in Pine Valley, at the Pine Creek Trailhead, adventure pass required. The first day is about 20 miles and a 4,000ft climb to camp with various surfaces of road, fire road and single track. The return ride home (back to your car) is mostly downhill.

Riding from Adams Ave Bikes:
THIS IS FOR EXPERIENCED RIDERS/BIKEPACKERS ONLY. If you have done this route before and know that your legs and bike are up for the challenge then we invite you to join Martin on this epic adventure (about an extra 90 miles and 7,000ft of elevation, round trip). Starting from the shop at 7am, Martin will lead the ride from town to meet the Pine Valley group by 1:30/2pm and you will all ride up to camp together.  This will be a long, hard and usually very hot ride that is 100% self supported. Make sure you know your limits and abilities. We want everyone to have fun.

Riding from Adams Ave Bikes, Road Bike Edition:
Josie Fouts has teamed up with Outride and is leading a road bike version route to the campout. Same rules apply, this is 100% self supported and will be a long, hot, hard ride so be sure you and your bike are up for the challenge. For more information...

Food and Drink:
The Summer Solstice is our biggest campout and we will be bringing food for dinner and breakfast with both meat and vegetarian options (some vegan). If you have specific dietary restrictions maybe plan ahead and bring some food and snacks. We are also asking that you bring your own camp plate/bowl and eating utensils, lets try and minimize our trash :) The event is free, however donations are always welcome to help pay for the food, campsite and beer. Those driving to camp: it's BYOB and if you're riding and want us to carry any specific drinks or extra supplies you're welcome to drop it by the shop the week before the event.

We love doing these campouts and can't wait to see you in June....

***Don't forget to sign-up at the shop or give us a call and we can add your name to the list!***
