Getting to camp...
Our campouts are always "pick your own adventure" with multiple options that WE THE SHOP offer to get there, however you are always welcome to plan your own route/adventure. This year we are all driving to Paso Picacho and offering multiple riding options for Sunday and Monday. Since this isn't a true "bikepack" route you're welcome to load your bike up with as much camp gear as you like. This is a 100% self-supported ride, you must have your own tools, tubes, food, water, etc... Be sure you and your bike are up to the task. It is your responsibility to keep up with the group's pace and have the route saved. Bring lights for your bike too!!!
Advanced Riders:
Jesse will be leading the long route Sunday morning, 9am, from Paso Picacho and finishing back at camp. $10 per car to park at the campground so maybe look into carpooling. We can help link people too.
Check route here: Fall Campout 2023 Loop Long
****Another note to advanced riders, if anyone is interested in joining Jesse on Saturday morning, he's leaving from town to ride out to the mountains. Contact the shop and we'll put you in touch.***
Skilled but Lazy Riders:
Check in to the campground is 2pm, again $10 per car and limit 2 per site and all the spots have now been claimed but there is over flow parking. Once we set up camp, Andrea will lead the short route B, (maybe we can do route A on Monday). If you plan on joining for this ride be there at check in, 2pm.
***Since this ride is starting later in the afternoon lights are required. For safety reasons this will be a drop ride with time cut offs so we can all make it back to camp by 6pm. If you have any concerns about holding a 5 mph average pace on this type of terrain then you might want to plan a bailout route. Feel free to reach out with any questions. ***

Monday activities:
There are several options. We did grab one of the sites for Monday night as well so we can have the whole day or if anyone wants to stay Monday night they are welcome. Site 005 must be vacated by noon. Activities can be: more riding (I will add some route options) hiking (there is a great hike up Stonewall just across the street) head home and back to civilization (haha) relax and read a book, go fishing at Cuyamaca Lake, whatever you want!
Food and Beverage:
We will not be providing meals or drinks, but we are bringing some extra food, snacks and beers.
Dogs:
We know you love your pup, but if you're planning to bring your dog you MUST follow the park rules. We frequent these parks and campgrounds so it is important to be respectful and follow the rules so we are welcome back. Please be responsible and don't spoil it for everyone.
- Dogs must be on a leash at all times.
- Dogs are not allowed on trails.
- Dogs must not be left unattended.
If you are unable to follow these rules, your pup has to stay home or you must get your own campsite.
