SPRING EQUINOX CAMPOUT MARCH 22nd-24th

Spring Equinox Campout March 22th-24th 2025

The Spring Equinox campout is part of our quarterly campout series that will coincide with the seasons, particularly the solstices and equinoxes. Each campout will be in a different location and somewhere along or close to the Stagecoach 400 route.

For this years Spring Equinox Campout we are heading back to the Anza Borrego desert: Blair Valley Campground in Shelter Valley

The Campground: Blair Valley Campground
Amenities:
-Primitive camping (Free)
-Pit toilets (only at the entrance)
-No Water
-No fire pits (fires are allowed in metal containers)
-No assigned campsites

***We have AT&T and cell service is pretty good in the Campground***

This is a primitive, first come first serve campground with very limited amenities and NO WATER. You must plan to bring everything you need with you. We (Chuck and Andrea) are planning to drive out Saturday the 22nd after we close up the shop, so probably around 3:30pm/4pm if anyone wants to caravan.  There are no assigned campsites but we are planning to stay where we always do on the west side, see map below.

The Routes:
This year, Jesse is planning to ride ALL the way there from the shop, leaving Saturday morning, 7am and arrive in Blair Valley that evening. It will be a VERY big day and if you've never done this type of milage, we recommend driving to camp and joining for one of the day rides. We will be doing a mellow loop on Sunday and a possible hike on Monday

Possible short loop Monday morning to stretch the legs and checkout the Pictographs and/or hike up Ghost Mountain to the Marshal South Homestead  Click here

Food and Beverage:
WATER: There is no water at the campground, so plan on about 1-3 gallons a day per person. We will not be providing meals for campers that drive. Reminder: there are no tables or fire pits or grills so you need to bring everything you need. If you do forget something there is a the StageCoach General Store a few miles north on the S2, but supplies are probably limited.

Shuttling Gear:
If you are riding to camp and there are some extra creature comforts you would like to have at camp but don't want to carry on your bike, you're welcome to drop off your personal items at the shop the week prior, we will not be there in the morning for the ride start.

Any questions or concerns on the routes, please reach out!

***There is a signup sheet in the shop or call and let us know you're coming***
