Current Employees

Andrew Lee
Andrew Lee
Proud owner and entrepreneur, Andrew Lee has been riding, selling and working on bicycles longer than some of his employees have been alive. A San Diego native, Andrew worked at the original Adams Avenue Bikes when it was further east. Andrew's version of the shop started out as a small community oriented cruiser shop and it has spawned into the double-wide beast you know and love today. Andrew races for the GSAAB International Team and has won many fine gold plated nacho plates while racing in Mexico.
Chris Newhart Chris Newhart
Chris likes to play in the dirt. Usually that means riding his downhill/freeride/singlespeed bikes. When he is not doing that he serves as the shop's suspension guru and will set up your ride so you can hit up the trail.
Robert Paulson
Robert Paulson
Paul has been in the bike industry for over a decade and is pleased to have found his way to the AAB side of the tracks. When not surfing or riding his Karate Monkey PP enjoy's converting diesel engines to run on used cooking grease. His 'Greasel My Diesel' vehicle is usually parked outside the shop with board and bikes ready for his next adventure.
Richie Ditta Richie Ditta
Richie Ditta originally hails from New York, but has spent a few years up in the Bay Area. Well versed in hand built bicycle craftsmanship, he currently shares a space with the one and only Brian Baylis. Richie also spent time as a messenger in New York City and San Fransisco and has many colorful stories to tell about his adventures.
Ryan Rosenbaum
Ryan Rosenbaum
Ryan created and maintains the AAB website. He is a math major at SDSU and would like you to talk nerdy to him. He also rides everywhere and recently completed a bicycle tour in Europe that included Germany, Beglium, Holland and France.

Past Champions

Tony Smith Tony Smith
World Single Speed Champion Tony Smith brings brought a wealth of bicycle training knowledge and many years as a master mechanic to the shop. A master-wheel builder himself, Tony, enjoys the utilitarian side of bicycles. Steel-frames, fixed or single speed drive trains, the elegant simplicity of man and his perfect machine. Tony was also a national level runner in college and hails from Moscow, Idaho. When not riding his bikes, Tony is was learning massage therapy and other holistic healing methods at Mueller College in University Heights.
Nate Whitsell
Nate Whitsell
The ex-shop wordsmith and wheelie king, Nate Whitsell has many other talents that he brings to Adams Avenue Bikes. A San Diego native, Nate graduated from SDSU as an English major. Nate has worked in many different shops for over 10 years and loves the people that are bike people. When he has the time, Nate is also an exceptionally skilled downhill racer and took home a few first places last winter in the Fontana Series.
Everett Hauser Everett Hauser
Webmaster and bicycle commute coordinator, Everett Hauser, remains a part of Adams Avenue Bikes to keep the aloha flowing. Everett wishes to acknowledge the help of Ryan Rosenbaum in creating this website (actually he did all the work). When not commuting, Everett races for GSAAB on the track every Tuesday night, he also does the local road and crit races, cyclcocross, and whatever else involves riding bikes.
Chris Michels
Chris Michels
Messenger bag maven and velo-culture critic, Chris Michels was the man behind the books at Adams Avenue Bikes. Like Tony, Chris is a man of steel, and only steel. Bicycles in his stable currently include classic 80's creations like his chrome lugged Bianchi, and Schwinn Paramount Track bike. But most likely you'll see this San Diego native and local celebrity riding his 1960's red Cinelli and sporting the latest in bags from Freight Baggage.
Anthony Musick Anthony Musick
Hailing from the coastal community of Leucadia, Anthony had returned for his second tour at Adams Avenue Bikes. Anthony rides his fixie all over town and has lived the dream as a messenger in New York. He has completed a bicycle touring trip, from San Francisco back to San Diego.
